About Roy Manufacturing

1958

The Beginning of Roy Manufacturing

Our roots in the community run deep.  We were founded 66 years ago by Roy O. Young, a young accountant for the J.J. Ross Mill Finishing Co., a seed cleaning and mill manufacturing company with a materials perforation department.

It turns out that the experience he gained from J.J. Ross would serve him well to establish a new business in the construction industry. When J.J. Ross decided to close its perforation department, Roy Young purchased the department for a new venture.  He opened his new business at the same location it is today.

Mathews and Clark purchase Roy Manufacturing

In the early 1970s, Hank Mathews and John Clark purchased the business from Roy Young after careful vetting.  The company was based on quality and excellence, so Roy was very particular about handing over the company properly to the new buyers.  As part of the deal, Roy required Hank to work for Roy Manufacturing for a period of time to ensure a smooth transition before approving the company's sale.

Foster and Ingle purchase Roy Manufacturing

In 2005, Hank sold the company to Carl Foster, founder of a well-known accounting firm, and Jayant Ingle, a former technology executive from Tektronix, Inc. Jayant operated as Roy Manufacturing's General Manager and worked with Carl to continue growing the company's production output.  At the same time, they focused on strengthening the company's reputation for expertise, product excellence, and superior customer service.

The Company continues to grow

66 years ago, Roy Manufacturing opened its doors with only one building and three perforation machines. Since then, the company has successfully grown to expand its capabilities to produce a variety of materials for many types of uses.  Roy Manufacturing operates out of four buildings with eight CNC-controlled turret punch presses, ranging from 30-ton to 50-ton punching capacity, and a host of pre-production and post-production equipment.

Chris runs the company as General Manager, carrying on Roy’s legacy of exceptional customer service and industry-leading expertise in materials perforation production. Both Chris and Jim are committed to growing Roy Manufacturing and maintaining its reputation as a business known to “punch” above its weight!
